Be Mine.

Tomorrow is the national day of love, otherwise known as Valentine's Day. While I'm not so into the consumerism that backs this holiday, I whole-heartedly support time to recognize those people who bless my life (although this should happen more than once a year). I will also admit my love for hearts and it is the perfect excuse to overindulge my need to put this shape on everything!
For me, Valentine's day isn't about pointing out singleness or even gushing over a crush. I believe it is simply appreciating the love you have in your life. It's so easy to get caught up in what we don't have or what we need to accomplish, life's day-to-day anxieties. But I have such beautiful hearted people in my life, and I never want to take that for granted. I'm a very lucky girl, so here's a little love note to you all:

I care about you. About who you are and who you will become. I appreciate your quirks. I appreciate the little, as well as the big, things you do for me. Thank you for listening. Thank you for investing in my life. Thank you for laughs and adventures. And most of all, thanks for being you! I hope you feel extra love coming your way, because you deserve every bit of it!

Food Crush

This post might be a little biased toward L.A., but indulge me for a minute. I've never been quite so obsessed with one particular restaurant before. It's a first, which is saying a lot, because I love food! Double hearts and underlined. Every time I've been downtown with time to spare, I've found an excuse to pop over to Bottega Louie's. And, yes, I follow them on Twitter and Facebook. If they had a blog, I'd probably follow that too. Their food is as gorgeous to look at as it is delicious to eat. 

If you live anywhere near the L.A., I'd recommend you find an excuse to indulge your inner foodie here. I'm usually content with a coffee or tea and macaroon, but once you taste their food, the real obsession begins. I recommend the pizza and arancini (delicious balls of rice and cheese). Oh, and definitely try the green tea mojito (it's nonalcoholic, so you can have as many as you want). It's the perfect Euro-getaway in the middle of downtown.

Girl Crush

Felicity Jones. She comes from the UK. She starred in Like Crazy. She is the new face of Dolce & Gabbana's beauty campaign. And she has impeccable taste in fashion. What's not to crush on?

I especially love this quote from Felicity during an interview in the New York Times: “Fashion choices are never arbitrary,” she said. “Even if you say you don’t care, that’s a decision. There’s something you’re trying to say.”

Just maybe she inspires me enough to cut bangs again...

Color Crush

According to pantone.com, one of the colors for spring is Cockatoo. Think seafoam and mint green. It is so gorgeous! I can't get enough of this color. So begins the search to add this color to my closet and my life...

Band Crush

Let me just start out by saying, I have many, many musical crushes and they change by the day. That might be seen as an attention problem, but I think it keeps life exciting. So here are my band crushes of the moment, quite literally:



Eisley is already one of my musical loves (always and forever), so it's only natural that Stacy King's baby, Sucre, would be my new crush. With members, Jeremy Larson, Darren King of MuteMath, and Stacey King of Eisley, Sucre is making the most beautiful, ethereal pop, like a dream you don't have to fall asleep to enjoy.

And, I know I've mentioned Carrollhood before, but they recently came out with a new song and I'm only falling deeper in love... more please.



I love that butterfly feeling in your stomach that only the discovery of new music can create, don't you?

Designer Crush

This week, in celebration of Valentine's Day, I want to share some of my current crushes with you!

I'm falling pretty hard for DSquared2's Pre-Fall collection. I love the rich colors and the mix of masculine and feminine. The pieces have the right amount of edge while still looking sophisticated.

And this LBD is just about perfect. That neckline. Can't. stop. staring. If only I could wake up to this in my closet, it would be a Valentine's Day miracle!

All the Colors of the Rainbow

Anyone else obsessed with colors and palettes? Then you should sit down (if you aren't already) because this website is your dreams come true. I felt tingly for at least an hour after I found this. Make color palettes. Create patterns and designs. And then color those patterns and designs. I dare say this is more addicting than pinterest. That sounds a little sacrilegious, but it's truth.
So, I dare you, have an affair with color. You might fall in love, if you haven't already.

I'll share a couple of my color palettes with you, but I have so much more experimenting to do!
